Mambo, We had our first Swahili lesson today..

Our housemates took us to njeero bar so we could experience the multi menus. Really strange when you sit down, and they put menu down from 10 different restaurants. We had just eaten so we only ordered drinks but all came from different bars. Very odd. Nice place and we got free wifi. Nice chatting to Cary and the kids ( miss them loads). Headed back in a taxi, me and simone really wanted to ride in the boot (housemates did last time 3 of them). ( maybe next time...

Brian showed us around the hospital and introduced us to Baba ( father). He is head of the hospital. Baba tells us the history of the hospital and is very welcoming. We go through A& E dept which consists of a small desk and 2 hospital beds. (very small area). lots of people waiting outside to see doctor. If they need test, scans, e rays etc they have to pay. Fe delis took us round the markets, some lovely handmade African artifacts. Well worth a haggle and having a drum and a dance with locals in the shop. Have to go back again.

Up at 7:00, scrubs and bikini in the bag. Lushous tropical fruit salad and Spanish omelette for breakfast ( lock us up till lunch). Just having a chat in the African sofas preparing for first day at placement.
