1 Corinthians 13:1 -If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.
Today we slept a little late because we are in a different time zone again. Apparently, there is Mountain Standard Time and Mountain Standard Daylight Time. We had a hearty breakfast at the hotel and Doug departed for Monument Valley. I puttered around and left about 9:00 am to stop and pick up more stamps and mail some postcards at the post office. I had planned on catching Doug before he arrived in Monument Valley but he rides too quickly. I caught him as he was departing for Mexican Hat. I stayed in Monument Valley to look for a room for the evening as we have not been making reservations as Doug is progressing along faster than his original plans. I actually checked on spending the night in a ti-pi (we call it a tee-pee at home) but Doug had called and no answer and I rode by twice and nobody was in the office. So I guess that was not meant to be. Again, I tried to catch Doug before he made it to the town of Mexican Hat and I just managed to catch him at the bottom of the hill on the bridge crossing the San Juan River. We had lunch on the banks of the San Juan River. Lunch on the river was nice and we watched a young lady catch a catfish. He looked like a mud catfish from home.
After lunch we rode around purveying the area and we did find a nice little local hotel to spend the night in. We decided to stay at the Canyonlands Motel a quaint inexpensive hotel in Mexican Hat. We have been blessed with staying in some small motels run by people who love providing travelers with a warm bed and clean shower. We met the proprietor of The Canyonlands Motel and she was a spunky and very interesting person. After we had settled in and had our siesta we set out to tour Monument Valley. I would love to be able to describe the beauty of Monument Valley but I do not have the adjectives to do so. Everyone should try to see the magnificence of the beauty of Nature at Monument Valley. We drove back to Mexican Hat and had dinner at the Old Bridge Inn. Doug had the Navajo Taco Salad and I had a Navajo Burger. I actually had to take mine home and I will finish it for lunch tomorrow. We had a fantastic day. God is so good.
