We survived the 20 hour train journey (it even had a proper toilet) and arrived in Shanghai this afternoon. We got talking to 2 Chinese businessmen who shared our cabin and we managed to get a bit of conversation out of them when we spoke slower and louder! We left Beijing on Sunday and spent 12 hours on the train to Xi'an which was an interesting trip. Its weird sleeping on a train especially when everything rattles. Visited Temple of heaven yesterday, was again very impressive. We wanted a photo just the two of us and the actual temple we asked the chinese and they were dying to get into the photo with us, they always do dramatic poses very funny really. We went to the Great Wall Of China today which was pretty amazing. We took the lazy option and went up most of the way on a cable car but we wouldn't have made it if not. We took loads of pictures and have loaded a few on here. The best bit was when we were coming back down, we went on a really long toboggan to get back to the coach.

We had a bad day yesterday. We tried to find the Beijing Underground City which lookded like it was about 20 minutes walk away from hour hostel. Two and a half hours later in the baking heat we had been given directions from about 8 people including a policeman and we still hadn't found it.
