We have been travelling up the coast for a few days now, its nice to get out of the city for a bit. We drove up to Port Macquarie on Thurs and stayed in a hostel for a couple of nights. There were some really nice beaches but its still too cold to sunbathe or go in the sea. We went inland to The Great Dividing Range to see a couple of national parks. We saw a 260m high waterfall and then went up even higher to a lookout over the mountains (in the blog picture). It was freezing, the locals said it got down to -20 degrees a couple of years ago and they get snow most years.
We are in Coffs Harbour now and its a lot warmer than in the mountains but we are still in jeans. We are heading further north to Byron Bay today which is about 300km from here. All the people we have met who are coming south have said that they are surprised how cold it is here so hopefully we are getting into the hot weather for a change. We will be complaining that it is too hot soon.
