We finally managed to escape Byron Bay after being there for 8 nights. when we go on the bus said everything was fine now but after a few hours we were told we can get to surf camp but if we go we wont be able to make it to Sydney by the next day as we'll have to come back on ourself then go inland. So we decided to go inland and stay somewhere different and miss our surf camp. We ended up going to a little town further inland wasn't to sure what it was called something like ulara! We stayed in a little pub/hotel was nice to have a room on our own not with 6 other people. We had a pub meal and then just lazed about then went to bed!

The next day we got up at 8ish and got the bus down to Sydney. On the way down we stopped at a service station! after everyone had eaten we left and carried on to Sydney. 5 mins later we got a phone call saying someone was left at the service station, was so funny we had to turn back.

When we got to sydney found our hostel which is pretty nice. our room had good people in was a good laugh. On our first night we went out to world bar, which was really good. We got the lads in our room to come out had a really good night, but had to leave early to walk back with lucy and Lonnie coz we're in a bit of a dodgy area.

The next day we couldn't really do much as we were waiting for Rachael to come join us. So we walked to the opera house and looked from outside there at the views of the bridge. We also shopped around to find best deals for Blue mountains and Hunter valley. The next day we just went to the park with the lads as it was sunny. Still didn't do much as we were still waiting for Rachael. That night we played drinking games in our room then went to world bar again. Was good in there not overly busy. Sydney is so strict with drinking i walked lucy back as she left easrly then tried to get back in and they wouldn't let me back in. Anyone who looks slightly drunk can't get in anywhere so annoying!

The next day Rachael came to Sydney! she arrived about 8am. Only had hours sleep so i was pretty tired, but we all got up. Lucy was meant to meet Rach at the airport but the alarm didn't go off so Rach had to make her own way here! In the day we just went for a walk around town. The weather wasn't very good. Always cloudy and rains a fair bit.

Next day we went to Bondi beach, that was pretty nice although the weather was rubbish. When we got there started raining loads. The lads are right wimps they went home because it was raining. We went for a walk around the coast which was good saw a few different beaches and the weather cleared up ended up being a nice day! That night we went out for Lucy's birthday as it was her birthday the next day but we decided to go out as it was a saturday. Went to a place called the Gaff which was pretty dead, but we all got in. the music was good but towards the end of the night they kept repeating songs over and over so got a bit boring. We didn't stay out to late. Came back and just lazed around the hostel.

Today it was Lucy's birthday we went up the Sydney Tower to have lunch. Was all you can eat and all you can drink soft drinks. Was really good food had so much to eat. The tower turns 360 degrees while your eating it constantly turns so got to see a brilliant view of Sydney. We stayed there for a few hours then came back to the hostel. Lazed about as we were to full. Gave lucy a birthday cake and just had a chilled out night. really enjoyed the tower.

After we went to the Olympic park, where the olympics were held in 2000. We didn't get to see in the main stadium but the others were open and we got to watch a school doing athletics was something different. Stayed there for a few hours then came back. Lucy and Rachael climbed the Sydney Bridge and i went out with people in the hostel. We went out on Mad Monday, was a really good night. Got loads of free drinks and went to some different bars which were good. After this just a had laze day the next day as it was sunny and just wanted to relax. We sat in the park and enjoyed the sun. Didn't do anything much this day in the evening we just stayed in watch films and lazed about.

The next day we had to be up at six to walk into town to go to the Blue mountains. It was quite a cloudy day so the views were a bit shady at times but always seemed to clear up just at the right time. We went on the oldest railway thats still in use. Is such a steep railway. the walk was pretty good some lovely views and we got to see some wild Kangaroos one had a joey in her pouch. After walking most of the day we stayed at the YHA in Kroombit. Was empty but was nice to have some space to ourself and have a quiet hostel for a change but i wouldn't want to stay somewhere like that all the time!

The next day we did our own little walk was so hot today very sunny and the views were much better. We walked around the other half of the mountains then up the steps we walked down the day before, which we were told to count yesterday and there was just under 1000. Was pretty steep climbing back up them. We walked for a good few hours then went back to the hostel. We got showered then the bus picked us up. Came back to our other hostel was in the same room still. That night we went out with the hostel. We started in world bar which was rubbish tonight then went to Candy's, which was pretty good had some good music. Was a good night stayed out till the bar closed.

We then did darling harbour, which is nice but not a lot around there don't think we saw it all properly so will go back to do it another time. We also had a wonder around the opera house. was sunny in the morning so managed to get nice photos of the bridge and opera house. When it got cloudy we came back and just lazed about. there isn't much to do at night unless you go out or want to watch films or TV but its nice to be able to laze about its a good hostel.

The next 3 days we had really nice weather. One day we went to Manly beach which is meant to be really nice but was covered in seaweed. Was really busy as its a bank holiday weekend and there was a food and wine festival on. Was a really good day for the beach today. that night took ages to get everyone motivated to go out no one was in the mood. Eventually we all went out then loads of people were rejected for being to drunk. This was the first time i was the sober one who was allowed in but left anyway because most people weren't allowed in. The next day we went to hunter valley tried loads of wines and ate loads of cheese was really nice. We had 3 really nice wines if had money would of got one of them but have to carry around as well to much effort. Rach brought a bottle to take home. After hunter valley came back didn't go out was a but tired as we got up at 6 again this morning. We also went to the botanical gardens one day spent most of the day sun bathing there as it was so hot. Really nice gardens. The 4th nice sunny day we went to Toronga Zoo that was good. Saw loads of different animals rach got to see Koalas. We spent most of our day at the zoo. We were pretty gutted though as we all wanted to watch the seal show the most but it wasn't on the cancelled it for some reason so we were all pretty gutted. Was still a good day though. After came back Rach cooked us dinner as its her last night with us tonight. Just had a quiet night in so she's not hung over for her flight tomoz. Lonnie is leaving tomoz as well. We all just lazed about tonight.
After Rach left we didn't do much in the days just lazed about, relaxed. We went out most nights into kings cross as usual. One night we went to a pub quiz, half way threw played a true or false game, which i won so i got a camper van free for 2 days. Was so happy decided to use it from melbourne to do the great ocean road. That night we also won the pub quiz, we came joint first and aidan went head to head for the last question and got it right, so we won. We won a $100 bar tab between the six of us was a really good night. The next night the 6 of us spent our $100 bar tab then went to the club/bar in kings cross. The bar tab went down well but there was one extra drink so we played highest card for it and i won so i got the extra drink had two lucky days in a row. Thre rest of Sydney we didn't do much apart from laze around, see the last few things we hadn't seen and drank a lot. Sydney was one of my favourite places met so many people and got on with them all and we loved the hostel. Was pretty gutted to be leaving didn't really want to leave but wasn't anything else for us to do there apart from laze about with all everyone we met which would of still been good.
