Ok so second time lucky.....So I was going to give you all an update on the last couple of days. On Tuesday night we went for our long awaited massage. Oh my goodness I was walked on, cracked, my ears were flicked I was knealt on and alsorts. Although it wasn't 100% relaxing at the time my body felt fantastic afterwards. A traditional thai massage.
Yesterday we went on the first of our two excursions. We had an early start and we were taken straight to an elephant trekking park. This was great fun, we were able to ride an elephant up the mountain. Then when we returned we saw an elephant show where the elephant balanced on two legs, played a harmonica and did the hula hoop. It was great fun but I am unsure how ethical. After this we were then shown a baby monkey that had been adopted by the park. Everyone was having their photo taken and when I did it the monkey peed on me! I was not very happy at all. luckily there was some running water where I was able to wash my top! We were then shown another type of monkey but was much smaller. I also attempted to hold this but when I did I was bitten. Just my luck. I think I have decided to stay away from animals on this trip! After the elephants we continued onto a chinese temple. This was really interesting as we were told about the different types of budda and cultures around the different religions of thailand, china and india. Very educational.
We then went back around the island to a waterfall in the centre. Here we had a trek through the jugle to a look out point and then a little further to a waterfall. The jungle was a bit hairy with steep inclines and some interesting wildlife! After the waterfall we then headed to a mountain top restaurant for lunch. Thai food (I was in paradise) yum and an amazing scenery to suit. After lunch we then headed down to another bay at the north of the island where we were able to snokel. Luckily I decided it wasn't a good idea and sat on the beach while the others got in. However ten minutes later. I found that everyone was coming out with water lice bites (similar to jelly fish sting). After our swim we then headed to another waterfall (finally) on the east of the island. The road to this waterfall didn't really exist and was more like a sand track going vertically up and down. Alot of first gear was used and I wouldn't of driven a car I owned down it. When we got to the waterfall it was really beautiful. Worth a visit.
We then had a very relaxing evening last night, after a shattering day.
