We had the best week chilling out on the PerinthianIslands after stocking up on our duty free booze in Lankawi. We took a very very fast boat which probably spent most of the time in the air over to the small island as sun was rising. We found a shabby hut to stay in and had yet another day on the beautiful beach with the clearest water yet.We had some happy hour beers and drank on our balcony. As we decided to retire for the night Annie found a rat down our toilet and screamed 'RAT' to the rest of us.The poor thing was trying its hardest to get out and drowning at the same time.I helped it on its way with the toilet brush and a bucket and the thing was gone before we knew it.We did however decide to check out the next day!We promised the boss we would book on his boat trip though which ended up being one of my favourite days. The four of us and our very chilled out driver left on our little boat at about 11am.We went to coral garden and snorkelled for an hour; best coral and fish yet but very similar. We then went on to see some huge turtles swimming around and chomping on the sea grass. After some lunch at a very sweet fishing village; where most of the local people live on the island we went to see the sharks. This was my favourite moment of the day.I was quite anxious at first but soon relaxed as the elegant sharks swam past without a care in the world; they especially were not interested in us.I followed one for a while and took a dive down deeper to get closer. At one point we were floating above at least five sharks. We were also lucky enough to see another turtle, he was swimming along and collided with a small shark and they both quickly swam off in opposite directions. We spent longer here as we loved it so much and shorter time in the next coral. Our last stop of the day was at blue lagoon which was a lovely bay with rich blue sea.We finished off the day with a lovely BBQ on the beach and I'm ashamed to say I think I may have eaten some shark!I obviously wasn't that taken back by them!We spent a while on the PerinthianIslands on the beach, swimming and chilling out mainly. The night life was fairly chilled out. There were two bars on the beach with table out on the beach, we worked out that they even had a 'bring your own booze' policy after no one said anything to us.The island was physically similar to Koh Phi Phi with two bays back to back, but on the PerinthianIslands there was jungle in between, not bars and guest houses. We walked through the jungle on night to watch the sun set which I never get bored of.I hope to return one day but we had to leave. We headed down to KL and spent a few days there sight seeing. We went to the KL tower and took a very fast lift up to the top which had the most amazing views over the city.We walked around a huge shopping centre which even had a fun fair and roller coaster in it.We had a beer in the Hard Rock Café and did some shopping in ChinaTown which is similar to Bangkok, selling lots of fake designer gear.We qued up one morning to get free tickets to walk over the sky bridge connecting the twin towers which was nice but not as good views of the city.We had one night out starting in the backpacker bar called the Reggae bar.We then walked to the market area and followed our ears to some live music. It was a very local affair where some very loud bands were playing. The sold cheaper beer so we stayed for a bit.A very small Malaysian man with a big mop of hair came over to talk to me but then was called out over the microphone for his slot.He couldn't find his band and ended up gathering some random's together and then let rip into a very entertaining performance. After KL we stayed with a family friend of Annies who were very kind to put us up for two days. We had a lovely time; Mike took us round to see all the sights of the city near KL called Putrajaya. We had some lovely meals and even did some Karaoke!!We left for Singapore after two lovely days.We only spent one night in Little India but found the best curry we have tasted since leaving India. We left late and spent the night at the airport to get our early morning flight to PerthAustralia.
