We drove South in our Camper van whilst we waited to pick Em up a few days later from returning home after her brothers wedding. We stopped off in Bunbury where we saw dolphins in the river and in the sea. On our return to Perth we visited a lovely winery, which was very friendly. We tasted lots of wine and settled on a bottle of rose and a bottle of lovely white port which were all consumed that evening in the camper van. We picked emily up and started the journey North. There are plenty of places provided to park up and stay over night along the way, the coastal areas are great as they all provide public toilets and showers. the water is cold though and so is the temperature in the South so long runs on the beach made the shower slightly more bareable. We stopped off at many places on the way over night or for lunch. We stopped off for lunch in Kalbarri and were lucky enough to spot hump back whales and dolphins out in the sea from a great viewing point. We had our first nights stay in a camp site to charge our electricals and fill up with water (very scarse in this part of the country), there was a natural hot spa and the beach was so so quiet and the water was so still. We had a lovely day in Denham which is a sea side village and drove 10 mins North to Little Lagoon where we relaxed for an hour or so. We stayed overnight in a free camping zone which was up at a beautiful view point. We saw an amazing sun set and watched the doplphins wizzing about in the water. Up early the next morning to Monkey Mia where the dolphins come in up to your ankles and some are even fed. Annie and Emily were picked out to feed them. We had a lovely day in Coral Bay where the weather was eventually warmer and we could sit out on the beach in our bakini's. We hired some snorkles seeing as we were at Coral Bay but didn't realise how cold the water would be. We saw lots of big fish and some sting rays but the water dropped suddenly and got quite deep and i got very scared of big sharks so kept quickly swimming back to the shallows. We were told that the tiger sharks don't really come in shallow as there is plenty of food elsewhere but i didn't feel comfortable taking the chance. We drove into a National Park for the day and spent a lovely day on the beach which was called turquoise Bay. We headed North for the next couple of days whilst having to fix a chipped wind screen which was the result of passing one of the many road trains which are often four lorry's long! We finally got to Broome which was our main aim and were very happy to finally get there. We spent the first night in yet another car park but got moved on in the morning by the very plesent rangers. We booked into a camp site as it was Dan's birthday that weekend and actually ended up staying there for 5 nights. There was a great social atmosphere in camp kitchen and around the site, there were some amazing caravans which were more like coaches and the little sites were full of cosy homes from home. On dan's birthday i cooked some scrambled egg and we had some sparkling rose wine to accompany it. It is really nice to be able to cook for ourselves after such a long time in Asia eating out every night. We spent the rest of the day on the beach and were joined by a couple of dutch lads. At one point that day everbody was called out of the 100m stretch of water which was gaurded by the life guards as there was a 15ft hammer head shark spotted in amongst everybody. I dind't think they were that dangerous but apparently are. The water was still quite cold anyway so i avoided it for that particular day. We watched yet another lovely sunset with some beers and went back to the camp site. We got ready and i even put some make up on which has been a rare occasiaon in the past 6 months and made our way to the local tavern. We had got to know some of the charactors on the site and they joined us. We stayed in Broome for 10 days and pretty much chilled out and had lots of fun. There was a frenchman who would come down to the beach every day with his volleyball net and lots of us would join in which i loved. I am getting quite bored of jogging so enjoyed the competition, i tried not to take it too seriously though! On our way back South we stopped off inland at Karijini National Park. It was absolutly amazing. We could only visit one of the gorges as we only had a two wheel drive but all the same i'm glad we did. We spent a whole day walking in the gorge and bathing in the cold water which apparently had snakes in according to legend. In fact all i did was get in wait for a couple of pictures to be taken and climbed back out, the water was so clear but i was quite scared of these serpants. We were told about another Gorge which was not on the map marked as a trail and ventured down there for about half hour. It was such a fun day with some of the most amazing landscape i have ever seen. The next day we climbed Mt Bruce which is the second highest peek in Western Australia. Well worth the climb which at times was quite challenging. We are now in Perth but flying over to Cairns tomorrow and i have just realised that i think i may have written most of this before! oops. Ah well, al in all we traveled 7000 K and had a great time. We finished off with a couple of nights in Freemantle and even caught a band at a local venue called British Inida. They are very popular and have heard them alot on the radio, it was a great night and we finished it off with a club.
