How much dirt can one get in their teeth, hair, shoes, bodily crevices? After 5 hours of driving with those same bazillion trucks, we were instructed to turn on to Reche Road...The name should have been an omen. The pavement soon ended and we were on DIRT roads with ruts as deep as you can imagine. Everything was rattling and shaking and we were wondering where in the heck were we being sent by Suri. She has always been reliable. We finally arrived at the Joshua Tree Lake RV Resort...from the back way!! We neglected to read the fine print on the website that stated DO NOT use GPS and call for instructions. It is about 20 minutes from both entrances from Joshua Tree National Park from the PAVED direction... It is actually, a really cool park. It is out beyond the city lights. The sky is absolutely magical. The stars are abundant and very clear. This is a great stop, just remember to CALL for directions. oh, they have a little lake where you can catch and release...big fish.
After a sumptuous meal of Bob's famous Flanksteak, cesar salad, steamed brocoli, and a nice cooling bowl of Lemon Gelato, it was time to sit back and stare at stars and savor life.
Next stop...Casa Grande AZ
