Touristas
7 July Seville to Ronda 32C. We picked up our rental car this morning for the next 2 days and set off for Ronda. It took us 2 hours to get here and saw mainly sun flowers, wheat fields and olive trees along the way.
We are staying at the Parador in Ronda which is a beautiful hotel set on the side of a cliff. Our room overlooks the gardens and has a balcony which is lovely.
We walked around the town and had lunch then crossed the "new bridge" (which was built at the end of the 18th century) into the old part of town and walked as far as the original wall of the city, then followed the path around the outside and below until we were in a position to look back towards the bridge from the lookout.
The building of the wall is a remarkable achievement considering the position of the town. Then it was a hike back up the hill to our hotel.
Before dinner we visited the Arab Bath House dating back to the 11th – 13th centuries. We crossed the 'old' (also dating from about the 13th century) bridge next to it. The baths have been well preserved and you can easily see how they must have looked back in those times.
