3 July depart Madrid for Seville. Expected temp 37 in Seville. The train journey was very pleasant and took 2½ hours. The apartment here is very good although small but it's location is excellent. 30C today but it doesn't reach that temperature until 7pm. We caught the city tour bus that has 2 routes around Madrid, each takes about 1.5 hours and we caught them in succession. They provide earphones and a commentary in a variety of languages. They use double-deck buses without a roof so you get a great view. Day 4 Sunday 1 July. We read the flea markets were worth a visit as they are on every Sunday but we didn't expect them to be quite as extensive as they were. By the time we wandered down one section we found ourselves at Ronda de Toledo so took the opportunity to pass by the Puerto de Toledo before going back to the antique market. Most of the markets were the same clothes, jewellery and leather goods, or cheap imported goods, so didn’t waste any more time ...

Off to discover Madrid Day 2 Friday 29. We walked towards Puerto del Sol, the small streets in the old part of town are interesting, full of bars and restaurants, we are really staying in the middle of the food centre. We stopped nearby for hot chocolate. Arrived in Madrid & staying in an apartment near Anton Martin metro station. Went out last night to discover the local area and wandered up Calle de Atocha from the Atocha Station to Plaza Mayor. This is an amazing square with building surrounding it. Lots of shops and restaurants surround the square with entertainers.
