Today we made our way up to Jungraujoch; a viewing point overlooking Mount Jungfrau, which is the highest point in Europe. It took us nearly 2 1/2 hours by train to get there, but the train ride was half of the experience. Shear cliffs, snow and ski slopes for the whole trip. The only downer was the ticket inspector who took exception to us not having our Eurail pass with us. What a dk.
We spent a couple of hours wandering around Jungfraujoch admiring the views, taking photos and walking through the tour they have setup up there. The views were simply spectacular. If only the photos could do it justice…
Then it was time to retrace our footsteps back down to Lauterbrunnen. We were both knackered when we got back, so it was rest time before dinner and then packing our bags for a very early start tomorrow. Up at 6 to catch 4 different trains to Rome. Early to bed now. Wish us luck for tomorrow; we've only got 5 minutes at one of our transfers. What could possibly go wrong…
