Today we were up in reasonable time with the intention to make our way back to the beginner slope. We figured we'd warm up on the slope we had our lesson on and then tackle a 'easy' grade slope at the same place. The warm up went well, with both of us feeling pretty comfy again after a couple of runs. Then for the 'easy' slope. After lulling you into a false sense of security, the shallow decent quickly turned into a near vertical drop. Well, not really but for us novices it sure felt like it! At the bottom our next challenge was the pommel tow (a ski rope with a plastic plate that you put between your legs and it tows you up the slope). Back at the top and without any broken bones (just some snow in Case's ski pants and a damaged ego), we figured there's only one way to get better and that's to keep having a crack! After a second attempt and more snow in Case's ski pants the toys came out of the cot and it was back to learners slope for a few confidence runs. Confidence back third time was a charm and we both made it down and back up the easy slope! :)
By then it was time to head back to town to organise train tickets and accommodation etc for our next leg. Then dinner (smoked salmon tart - what happened to deep fried spring rolls for an entrée?!) and very soon bed.
