I am very excited to go on my trip to the Eastern Seaboard in two days. We will be visiting Boston, New York City, Washington D.C, and Williamsburg. There was so much history that happened in this area of the country involving the American Revolution that we will be able to learn about. I have very high hopes for this trip and believe it will be a very informative, fun, and possibly life changing experience for me. Before we leave we had to do an essay about time, continuity, and change. I believe that during our trip we will be able to learn about the past while being able to see what has changed in today's time. During colonial times the technologies used were advanced at the time, but to today's standards they are not very good. When I was writing the essay I had to study weapons from the Revolutionary War and the Civil War, and conduct research on modern technologies for weaponry. Studying is important because it gives us knowledge so that we can succeed in life, and be able to not repeat our past mistakes. We need to study our past not only today, but also in the future so that we can evolve from our past and fare better in our future. On this trip we will learn about things like the American Revolution, immigration, how people lived in colonial times, what kinds of technologies were used, what kind of architecture was being used at the time, and so much more than I can list. This will be a great lesson on history and I am super excited to be a part of it! I hope by the time I come back to Oklahoma I will know much more about colonial America and how people lived, worked, and prospered at the time.
