Left Ronda about 11am to take a scenic drive (as per LP) to get to Vejer de la Frontera.
Drove to Zahara de la Sierras and passed lots of wind turbines and a picturesque reservoir on way (Embalse de Zahara).
First part of drive took us from Zahara via Puerta de las Palomas to Grazalema. The road was amazing! Just kept climbing higher and higher into the clouds. The hills/cliffs were stunning! Saw Griffon vultures circling from the peaks! Weather closed in the higher we got and the mirador at (Puerta de las Palomas) was in the clouds. Very dissapointing as the climb up was amazing so view from top would have been more so. Never mind, such is life.
Once passed through Grazalema passed various White villages on way down and more stunning scenery finally arriving at Vejer de la Frontera.
Vejer is lovely White village perched on top of a hill. Staying at Hotel la Casa del Califa. Hotel is lovely. Is 10 houses joined together to make Hotel. Restaurant in hotel (Moroccan) is the best in town so after a wee wander around the old town had lovely dinner there.
