Left Valencia to drive to Alicante via Xativa where we drove up to the castle to check out the amazing view.

We then drove on to Guadalest village to check out the Castillo de San Jose. The drive there was quite scenic.

We arrived in Alicante and found our Hotel (Gravina Cinco). Was supposed to have onsite parking which turned out to be the garage next door shared with the neighbouring hotel. Which doesn't sound too bad but the lift from the carpark brings you out in this other hotel and you feel a bit weird lugging your suitcases out the door, down steps then along the street and up our hotel's steps. What a pain!

Hotel room was pretty tired. Bed rickety. Bathroom old and tiny but we did get a nice continental breakfast included and the minibar (helped ourselves to coke and water).

Wandered down to waterfront for some dinner.
