Caroline's World Tour
I forgot to say in my last entry, but we saw some koalas! Just after we got on the Great Ocean Road we turned off into a holiday park because they live wild (or as wild as a creature that sleeps for 20 hours a day can get) in the gum trees there. Most of them were quite high in the trees and asleep, but we did manage to see one low down that woke up and stared at us in a slightly puzzled fashion while cramming his mouth full of eucalyptus leaves! He was absolutely adorable, all fluffy and cute! It was quite strange to see one just sitting there happily, need a kangaroo next!!
Not much to report since my last update, apart, of course, from our trip to Ramsey Street. We went to the school and drove past the studios, but I didn't really recognise the school and you can't see anything at the studios, but Ramsey Street was just like it looks on the TV! Apart from being absolutely tiny, it looks exactly like you expect! We were very entertained, it must be so irritating for the people that live there to constantly have British tourists gawping at their houses!
We headed out into the town last night, and went to the casino which is very close to our hostel. We didn't gamble - we tried putting a dollar in a pokie but we lost it without even really knowing that we were playing - I don't think we're cut out for gambling!! We did manage to find a nice little club/bar to go into, and managed to get the bouncer to let us in for free which saved us quite a lot between us! The casino is amazing, its very Las Vegas - so many things under one roof. And when we came out at 1am (positively early by Australian standards) all the shops in the casino were still open - new meaning to late night shopping!
Today is going to be a nice restful day, we thought we'd check out the markets and maybe wander over to the docklands if the sun stays out! Its a hard life......
