Great day today. Actually felt like retired couple. Had fun and games on 4x4 track between Pt Neill and Lipsom Cove. Recommend it for scenery but a bit embarrassed to admit a creek crossing beat me and resulted on a significant retreat. This new rig is going to take some getting use to. After descending the banks of the creek (as shown in photo) the climb up the opposite bank resulted in a severe sense of top heaviness and even a sense of maybe we are going to lay her on her side. Not a good feeling. Anyway common sense got the better of self esteem and the drive back to the main road seemed the way to go. Although Carol would never admit it I think even she thinks the conservative approach in this incidence was probably the way to go.
Had a great night, drinks at Brett and Meg's place before tea with Amanda, Tim and their adopted mate, Nick.
(27/2/14) Really feels like I'm retired now. Called into the old office and enjoyed catching up with the few remaining staff. Only half the people that were based there last year are still there now. Seemed very different and incredibly quiet.

Lyndon if you cannot handle a dirt track like this how are you going to get to Cape Leveque towing a boat
carol-and-tonys-travels Very good question but at least I have a few months to adjust to this set up. The old 100 Series Cruiser would have eaten that creek but if I'd had the old van on the back we wouldn't have even considered it. Oz
