We arrived in Kanchanaburi yesterday lunchtime and had trouble finding the Apple Retreat where we were staying. We spent yesterday and today chilling out in Ayutthaya, the old capital city of Thailand. I think it must be the low season because it is rather quiet here. On the first day we didn't do much as we were tired after the hustle and bustle of Bangkok. We stayed in a cute bungalow (more a shed) in a small garden, the owner is really helpful and friendly. We had some pets of our own in the shed, some ants and a couple of lizards which pooed on the bed a couple of time...

Yesterday we went on our river tour and luckily had our own boat and guide. It was a long tail boat with a massive truck engine, so it was quite quick. The river was choppy because of the all the traffic making the boat rock and roll a lot. Once we headed onto the side canals it was much calmer as we went passed all the houses, with kids waving at us before diving into the water, I can't say I would like to follow looking at the colour of the water. We have had a busy few days and yesterday we said goodbye to Cambodia and hello to Thailand. It took most of the day, but luckily the border crossing was easy with no pushing and long delays. We had two pimped out people carriers to take us from the Thai border to Bangkok, it also had a good engine and we flew along.
