A little hungover after treating myself to a bottle of fizz and a huge amazing Boullibase fish dinner we set off this morning to the dunes (pic above) to go sandboarding .... slightly nervous about it - I was thinking about the hurtling down headfirst on what can only be described as a bit of plywood that i totally failed to think about how the hell you get back up the dunes .... possibily physically the hardest thing i have ever had to do - i HATE walking on sand (yes im stupid) and getting back up was exhausting but i managed to get back up 3 times (total sweaty betty) and im back in town to tell the tale - my top speed on the speed camera (these guys are so cool with their kit im telling you) was 60KPH ... which headfirst feels pretty f'ing fast ..... a great morning but probably wont be doing that again!!!! Just finished a lovely afternoon shopping for probably totally innapropriate souvenirs - including some zebra skin coasers and a beautiful springbok skin rug .... sorry all my veggie mates but you just have to go all Game here - even sampled the local meats the oher day Zebra, Ostrich, Oryx, and Kudu - all very tasty especialy the Zebra!!!
Off now to pic up the boarding video and an early start again tomorrow - the overland journey is winding down - only a week to go and then I hit cape town - I now have my family placement details and volunteer project details and starting to wonder how im going to get back into a 'work' routine!!! But having said hat will prob only need to get up about 7am which will stilll feel like a lie in after these past 2 months!!! Sorry still no new pics - left m,y camera lead at the hostel (doh) will def spend a few days in cape own sorting it all out. Bye for now! x
