Had an amazing 2 days game driving in the Masai Mara - Saw Lions (including one devouring a zebra - amazing if not stomach churning!!) Lots of family's of elephants, Zebra, Buffalo, Wildebeest, Giraffes, Ostriches, Leopards, Cheetas .... warthogs, jackals ..... pretty much everything except a Rhino on this trip. We stayed in army style tents with Masai wariors guarding the camp at night ... one of whopm was pretty drunk which was abit concerning as you really are...

Very chilled day - heading out to a famous (ish) restuarant this eve for a group meal - Carnivore - big meat restuarant - didnt do much today - apart from spending 2 hrs trying to get my photos on to discs to get uploads but failed - very annoying knowing all my pics on memory cards and terrified of losing my camera all the time!! Had an intersting Matatu ride back from the shops - talk about pimp my van - biggest woofer going and a video in the back - great fun!...

Looong driving day today all the way back to Nairobi. We are staying at a camp in the Karen district (after Karen Blixen - Out of Africa) as her home is just around the corner. Again we can upgrade to a dorm for 5 bucks so we do ... and im now staying in a converted container which I have to climb a ladder to get in and which over looks the truck yard (much to the mechanics amusement). We have a send of for mark who leaves us today and Pamela tomorrow - good tim...

We set off today in Zambezi our huge converted truck - 17 of us on the overland trip at the start, with our guide/cook and driver, Miriki and Richard. First stop was the great rift valley then on to Lake Nakuru, surrounded by thousands of flamingos. We game drove through Nakuru national park, seeing giraffes, rhino, buffalo loads of birds and were attacked by monkeys when we stopped for lunch. They have NO FEAR and are a bloody pain in the ass!!! Tonight we bush ...

This morning my driver (David) took me on a tour of the city but first i needed to change a travellers Cheque... what fun ... no one seems to accept them - we tried the usual spots .. but banks, hotels etc just wouldnt do it ... so he marched me around all sorts of shops, alleys etc (he is about 6 ft and takes one stride to three of mine) and finally (me panting) we found a very bizarre looking place in what looked liked a derilict shopping centre which he assur...
