After a train journey from Bath we arrived in Turo. One hertz hire car later and maybe a few miss directions by one Mrs Salter we arrived in Padstow . What a cute seaside village. I have watched Rick Stein for years and have always wanted to visit . Today we arrived in Padstow , late afternoon , Checked in to our hotel The old Customs House . Very please with my Internet booking, a fabulous room overlooking the harbour . After a look around the village , a purchase of the abliguarty Refridgerator magnet. We proceeded to the Rick Stein Seafood Restaurant , no reservation , having been advised by an Internet blog no reservation necessary - a seat at the bar is the way to go. We arrived at 6 ish having been told previously in the afternoon that a table not available until 9.30pm. Dare I say a bit late for the Dave and me. We arrive and were seated at the bar , fabulous - a great view from the bar, kitchen and all the in coming patron (do think the seating is a little tight ) What a fabulous restaurant. Beautifully laid out and apparently recently refurbished. . David not keen on my constant taking of photographs was not impresed with me . But dare I say he was impressed with the restaurant. Underrated class, good food , good service and fabulous. we sat at the bar , attended by a gorgeous friendly young local lass . A duo of local crab entrees . Most enjoyable . Followed by the whole sole . Wow loved the meal - very impressed. We have travelled all the way from Australia and I could not be happier .
