Brisbane is inbetween the gold coast and sunshine coast , with its heart set slighly inland on the river Brisbane. The river leads out into Moreton bay and the finally leads out into the sea.Its a lovely city.
Had breakfast and then went for a 7 mile walk all around central brisbane. Started by going through the Botanical gardens, then across the pedestrain bridge to South Bank. It was Australian day so the whole of South Bank was buzzing with a mini beach and swimming pool, reataurants, and live entertainment ran throughout the day. We walked the whole of the bank, which was beautiful, and then got the free ferry back to eagle point where we had a late lunch. That evening we ventured back to South Bank again and got a great spot in a bar overlooking the water and at 7.30 the best firework dispaly I have ever seen commenced- it was breathtaking and we had the perfect view. We then went to the riverside Stokehouse restaurant to watch a stunning full moon start to rise in the clear skies whilst i ate the local fish "Mullaway" which was fantastic. Walked back home through the botanical gardens, which was well lit up with the whole place feeling very safe.I have found all the Australian people to be most friendly and helpful. The cities in Aus all seem to be less busy ( roads , streets etc), than uk cities. The streets are very clean with no graphite and a much more cosmopolitan feel.
