Weather great again yesterday. The staff here are very friendly. The guy who looks after our room is helpful and smiley. When we came back from the pool he had put together and folded some towels to look like a little man- he put my glasses on his masterpiece and had it holding a piece of paper as if it was reading!- it really was clever .Didn't eat well due to hangover , but hit the Gym for an hour. The view from the Gym is amazing, looking out over the Red Sea and the beach. Lay around the pool until 2ish , went for a meal on the beach front restaurant and then back to pool. Decided to go for a walk along the front promenade - a surreal experience . Walking passed 5 star hotels with manicured gardens and total opulence, followed by 1/2 built and derelict apartments.
Ate at the Maraban restaurant , which means "welcome " in egtyptian. Food was great and there was a very talented guy playing some sort of "steel guitar", type contraption , which made some unusual and very pleasant sounds.
From that, to the show theatre to watch "legends of rock", performed by the resident entertainment crew.just up my street, great tracks, performed really well. The whole show had obviously been put together very professionally. How they managed to dance with such vigour and sing so well beats me- they must be very fit.
Wifi in hotel has been very iffy, hotels now really must provide a top wifi service. On a night, so many people are using it , it virtually stops.
Today the plans are to lay around the pool, go for a cultural talk in at 4 pm, eat early then a trip out to soho square, possibly returning for the 9.45 Opera show.
