We woke up this morning and had breakfast at the hostel again (vegemite on toast for me) then packed up for an 11am checkout and headed to Dublin, as Belfast wasn't too crash hot and we saw alot of it in the day that we were there. We went to the station and activated our eurail passes, they are first class by the way and getting on our first train ride was pretty exciting. We were greeted by a staff member as we got on who took our bags and showed us to seats, we were then bought menus and a complimentary orange juice before the train took off. We ordered lunch (chicken and salad) and were served quickly as we had the whole carriage to ourselves, the food was great. We have chairs that recline and are really comfy which is good cause it's a two hour trip. We are all so happy we got first class tickets, these trains are amazing. We arrived in Dublin and had a short walk from the station to the hostel. Our hostel is in the heart of the city and Temple Bar is a very lively area. We checked into our hostel and there was one American dude in our dorm. We went for a short walk around town and then to the supermarket to buy our dinner, chicken and vegetable soup and a bread roll. When we got back we had another guy in our dorm but he didn't talk! Our budget is tight, €58 a day and a hostel is around €16 per night which comes out of the daily budget. We then went and got ready to go out for the night, I can't be bothered doing my makeup anymore so I just don't do it! Before we left another guy joined our dorm he was from Germany. First pub we went to had live music but it was pretty poor and the drinks here are expensive (€7.50each) and so is everything else so we went and bought a bottle of vodka to share and orange juice took it back to the hostel and sat in the common area and played 4 kings (drinking game) before going out again! After the bottle of vodka was finished we went to a different pub where they played live music, it was packed but we somehow managed to meet a couple who were sitting at the bar and we stayed and chatted with them, the girls name was Karen. Everyone here is really friendly and helpful. After that pub, Karen took us to a club up the road from the pub, they bought us drinks all night. We headed back to the hostel at 3:30am as all the pubs close at 3am. I spoke to Gus for a bit on the phone and then hit the hay. I woke up at 10:20am and had to rush down and get breaky before it finished at 10:30 Clint and Lauren couldn't be bothered getting up so I went down by myself. I had coco pops, two pieces of toast, strawberry yoghurt and a glass of orange juice. I went back up to the room and realised that all the guys had left so now there was just the three of us in the dorm. We weren't feeling too lively so we just hung out in the room for a little bit and tried to have a sleep. Two new girls arrived and they were from Pennsylvania, they were really nice. Another man arrived who is Indian and a little older. Clint and Lauren didn't leave the room today, I put my joggers on and went for an hour power walk along the water and then walked to the post office to post Gus a birthday card but it is bank holiday here and the post office was shut. We got chicken burgers and chips for dinner and had another new member to our dorm when we got back. Her name is Jennifer and she is from Canada. We stayed in our room for the night and talked to the two American girls, they were really nice and we all got along well. We had told funny stories and had some good laughs. The photo is of a midget leprechaun busking in the streets of Temple Bar.
