Our first day in Belize was eventful. While I was attending 'school', Ed, Gene and Robby were on a morning drive. They almost ended up in Mexico since they’re navigation skills weren’t to strong. Maybe they need to attend ‘map-reading school’
We went to the ancient Mayan temple called Altun Ha. Altun Ha meaning "rock stone water" was an ancient Maya city that dates back to 200 B.C. It had 13 temples that you are allowed to climb. My highlight was hiking up the Temple Of The Masonary Altars, which is 54 ft high.
We stopped at a Baboon sanctuary, on our way back to Belize City. Our tour guide, Shane was very knowledgeable about the jungle eco system. We saw a family of black howler monkeys. They are known for their loud rasping howl, which you can hear a mile away. The oldest male monkey ate a banana out of my hand to. It was without a doubt my favorite thing I have done so far in Belize.
I am having a hard time seeing all the stray dogs and puppies. Most of them have mange and are malnourished. I did buy a bag of dog food to feed some of them. My problem is that I want to keep every dog I see.

Gran & Gramps Aren't the ruins amazing? Hard to believe how long they have existed. Doing homework there is a little different too. Love ya. Gran & Gramps
Nanny Don't get any ideas but my niece found one of those starving puppies in Mexico and found out how to have it shipped on her plane home. She still has it and is now married with two children.
