Jeff and Dana and their crew stayed at the house last night in preparation of leaving at 5 am, needless to say, 5 am came waaay too early and we didn't actually get up until then. (feeling a little tired after a late evening).

We finally managed to drive out of the street around 8:00 am and managed to make the U.S. border at about 8:30 am. No line ups at the border crossing made it seem super easy, but like everything in life that failed miserably. The border guard, although really nice, decided that we should go through a thorough inspection of truck and trailer. 30 minutes later we finally hit the highway.

Breakfast at Denny's to tie everyone over turned out to be another 90 minutes of time wasted, with a 12" strand of hair wrapped completely through my breakfast (compliments of the kitchen staff) I should have known it was going to be a fantastic trip !

Heading down the I-5 was fairly normal but the frustration began after Portland Oregon when Jeff's GPS and mine didn't come up with the same travel plan, even though we both entered the exact same information. (go figure, bloody electronics! ;)

Eventually we managed to get to the campground (Lincoln City KOA) in Otis Oregon at about 9:15 PM. After check in we set up camp and made dinner, Jeff (as usual) had been cutting the cheese all day (much to our disdain) but once he actually brought out a knife and began cutting the cheese for dinner he nearly cut the top of his finger off (just more proof that children should not play with sharp objects). With blood everywhere and the cheese ruined we are going to ask him just to focus what he does best, cutting the cheese the old fashioned way and making a mess of his shorts instead of everything else. After a few wobbly pops and a quick bite to eat, I was ready to crash, and crash I did. The next morning we packed it all up again and continued on our Journey !
