We did eventually manage to leave Seaforth, even after seven weeks it was hard to drag ourselves away from that lovely spot. It is an unspoiled, picturesque part of Australia that not many people know about and we just stopped the world and got off for a while!
We did get to see most of the places of interest in the area and made it up to Airlie beach, from where we took a scenic flight over the Witsunday Islands, definitely the best way to see them.
I also got a new haircut which is so much easier to manage and cooler. Thanks to Carina, one of the great people we met at Seaforth, who was brave enough to listen to my urging, I am now a no. 4 with clippers and I later set to on Chris who is now a no. 2. Feels great!
Now we are on the road to Longreach, and into hotter dryer weather. Last night we camped at Jericho, a quiet little spot by the river with only a couple of other travelers and the wildlife to keep us company. We spent a pleasant while watching a pair of birds feeding their babies in a nest which was hanging from the tree next to our van.
