This is the big day, feeling nervous. Slow start, had lie in til 10am and then breakfast at 11. Back to room for some iPad and then to train station at 12.45pm. It's only a short journey but dad said it would be busy. First train was very quiet to get to Clapham Junction. Then the next train came in, 2 stops to Twickenham, but it was like Japan - pushing and pushing to get on. Very very hot and very slow. What a relief to get off that squeeze!
Loads of time so slow walk, but place was already so crowded. Stumbled across the free Coke stand and dad decided to buy some donuts to go with it.
Oddly the lady refused to hand a drink directly to me, said she was not allowed to so dad had to take it and passed it to me. Later I thought, hang on, cannot be handed a Coke, but a policeman can hand me a real 100 year old sword to swing around!
Anyway, then we went into fans zone and met a young lad and his dad from Scotland. We had sat next to them at party last night and my dad had photo of them that he sent to them as we spoke - one of speakers came over at event so dad took photo of speaker and they were in it!
We waited for team coaches to arrive and waved both sets of players into ground. I recognised Dan Carter and pointed him out to dad. That took us until past 2.30pm, so not long now. Even got photos of me by the team coaches. Found another free Coke stand before going into stadium - that's all we drank until well after match.
Great seats in North stand on middle tier. Got a flag and some banners given to me, so all ready to go.
Game was exciting - dad had to quieten me down a couple of times. We staying in stadium until well after trophy tour etc. Choice was then queue up for train, go into Twickenham to eat or walk to Richmond and eat. I picked Richmond, 30 minutes to unwind and dad said it was nicer.
Ended up in MacDonald's, but we did not stay to eat - went to an Italian and stayed nearly 2 hours! (I've only had one MacDonald's all holiday!)
So many people high 5'd me and said well done. One guy inside a pub waved through window and high 5'd me on glass! Even in station some guys from New Zealand said I should play for them!
Trains were not too busy when we got on. A lady on first train spoke to dad, she was over from New Zealand and she gave me a souvenir scarf.
A lot of people around in fancy dress - Halloween!
A great day, did not feel too busy as we had loads of time with lots of distractions.
