Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia is our last stop in South East Asia. Phnom Penh was considered one of the loveliest French-built cities in Indochina in the 1920s but of course during Pol Pot's regime this all changed. The bus journey from Saigon was horribly long and uneventful, so I will move on to our first proper day in Siem Reap. Our first impressions were positive, we loved the place. The journey from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh (AKA Saigon) took us about 2 hours by Plane. Instead of sticking to the origanal plan of going to Laos, we decided to catch the bus back to Bangkok (12 hours over night) and flew to Hanoi in Vietnam. When we arrived in Vietnam we were greeted by a man holding up our names at the airport. We were then driven to our guest house in the old quater in Hanoi, which is the backpackers area.
