" Let's go for a walk.
I want to walk over that Fisherman's Bridge to Asia."
Galata Bridge.
OK.
I'm in that.
Emily armed with her camera and long lens off we trot about 5pm.
Through streets in 'old' Istanbul to the water's edge.
Absolutely stunning day.
There's the bridge and we are on it, crossing from Europe to Asia.
There are 2 levels.
The top level for vehicles and pedestrians and fishermen.
The bottom level packed with restaurants and diners and pedestrians.
We are on the bottom level.
I really should have seen it coming.
"Let's pop into this place and sit a while."
OK, I'm thinking a nice drink looking at the view.
Next thing I know there is a menu in front of me and we are eating.
Sitting and eating.
At a FISH restaurant, no less.
Really, really fell right into that one.
I know how strange I am.
But I really hate sitting and eating.
Really hate it.
Seems like a colossal waste of time to me.
However, knowing full well when I have been bested and totally going with it, we thoroughly enjoyed the meal and the view and the weather and the fishing lines coming down from above.
( Didn't like the little fishes sailing up past us much but without scissors and creating an international incident, I didn't think there was much I could do about it.)
And I especially loved the shrimp I had for dinner.
Ten points to Emily for that one.
Her plan all along apparently ...
And it worked a treat!
Off and wandering to ASIA no less!
Spectacular sunset behind the suspension bridge further along, and 2 mosques.
Then seaplanes kept flying in...
You really didn't know where to look.
Took heaps of photos.
Walked home about 8.30pm
In bed now 10.30pm.
Great evening.
So much fun.
Great location to sit and eat.
Loved it.

Daryl Well done Em!!!
Mum Lovely photo, stunning background.
narelle Great work Emily, how could you not love sitting down to a nice meal with views like those! You are making my life very difficult Carolyn, where to go on my next holiday?? Turkey is looking absolutely amazing! Decisions, decisions.Perhaps you can make your next holiday to Peru and I can come with you? Thought you may like some news about everything that I have been up to ..... ........... that's it - nothing!! No, not really. I taught myself to crochet over the weekend. And I did some weeding ... the fun never stops at my place! So glad you and Emily are having a great time, loving the photos and can't wait to hear all about it when you get home. Now I think I have done enough work and it's time for a nap :)
Amanda Beautiful company, dinner and sunset :)
Andrew Browning Great photo across to Asia.
Andrew Browning …………………back Had to check on dinner, yep ready. Thought of pouring a drink to go with this entry! Well done Emily !!!!! Wonderful surprise and brilliantly executed by Em. Unexpected surprises peppered through your holiday are the precious ones. The bridge sounds huge to carry that volume of traffic and support restaurants & pedestrians. How good is life......dinning in a fish restaurant in Turkey with Emily, great meal, magnificent sunset and Asia. Enjoy it all and keep having FUN.
Sandra Bourke GO EM! You are funny Carolyn!
