Well, sitting on the 12.39 train to Turin.
Two changes.
Turin .... 12.39
Brig Bahnhofplatz .... 14.03
Walk 7 mins to Brig Station
(That's where Gaudenz got off the Glazier Express.)
Brig ... 14.44
Milano Central ... 16.35
Milano Central ...17.05
Torino Porta Nuov ... 18.05
Hotel 5 mins walk from the station.
Had a wonderful time in Zermatt.
Very, very relaxing.
And simply beautiful.
I loved my time up the mountain.
AND that I hiked some mountain trails in Switzerland!
I had a long chat with Gerald, Amanda.
He said I could stay here and he would go to Australia.
He is a lovely man.
He has given me his Email address to keep in touch.
The room was beautiful.
The view amazing.
I sat and just gazed up out the window.
Spotlessly clean.
So clean, I leant down to put my shampoo bottle in the shower recess...
And promptly banged my head against the glass door.
It was so clean, I didn't see it!
( The perils of travelling alone. There was no one there to see it.)
Beautiful train ride on the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn.
Spectacular scenery to Brig.
More little barns.
Love those barns.
I learnt a bit about those at the Museum in Zermatt.
The farmers store stock food in them that they have managed to stockpile during the summer.
( You look out a train window and you see the farmers cutting the grass.
Then raking it by hand... to collect and bale.
Most of the land is too steep to use machinery.)
Then, as winter sets in, they move the stock from small barn to small barn, letting them eat the stored food.
So straight across the road to the main Brig Station.
Platform 4.
On the train now to Milano Central.
Italy, here I come.
The ticket collectors are so helpful on the trains.
The lady on the last train told me that I need to go to Platform 4 for the Milan train.
Great to know ahead of time.
Arrived Turin with no trouble.
Found the hotel ok after a couple of directions.
Beautiful room
But I am very tired.
Will add to this later.

M Good morning mum!It is 6:42 here in Geelong and I am waiting for the next train.I am currently riding my bike to work as my car seems to want a rest.the sun is shining and I am just imagining myself travelling through the country side seeing all those little store barns. I'm glad your finding all the connections ok. It seems a bit scary from over here but you sure have it nailed. Enjoy Turin. I'm on the train now.the sun is shining and in about to do some reading. I love you lots and lots!!Xoxo
