Great night sleep in room 101!
Ha! I survived my own Room 101...
Ha! So there!
I will quietly admit that I searched the room for spiders ... Even the bed... Cannot be too careful ... But then wonderful nights sleep ... Without so much as a dream.
Lovely breakfast... Cooked and buffet ... Had lots!
On the bus at 8am and this whole day is taken up with the bus tour to Barcelona. Will have lots of breaks though and it's a magnificent sunny day.
Brooke... Drank the sangria... Beautiful... Also 'I told you so' dance duly noted! Haha
Daryl and Emily... Find your own. I'm busy.
Simone ... We play a version of 'Windmill' ..... It's called 'Bull.'
(As opposed to the aforementioned 'Duck')
Also, I use your mirror ALL the time!
Bobby... The Doctor travels anywhere, anytime through Time and Space.
(He did seem to hitch a ride with me this time though.)
And miraculously appeared at The Tardis in Earl's Court, wanting to travel Europe.
(Seems The Tardis is in for repairs.... Damn those Daleks!)
What could I say?
So.... Yes The Doctor and I are touring Europe!
He may appear in photos from time to time.
You've heard of 'Where's Wally?'
This is similar.
Keep your eyes peeled!
Points will be awarded at the end of the trip.
Use the big whiteboard... Or all of them...As the Tally Board.
Andrew... I want to bring Callum on my next trip. The Doctor is not much of a drinker. (However, he will take a banana to a party!)
I know I am sending this to everyone but it is also a record for me of the trip.
I have added photos today of several people on the tour .... Not that interesting for you but great for me. I hope to add more each day as I get them.
Ok are there several countdowns going on at work?
Stacey....not long till full time 'Ranger Stacey'
Have a great last few days!!!!!!!!
Jon... Outback trip
Carol... Cruise
Andrew D.... New house
Have I forgotten anyone? Probably. Bring me up to speed.
This is Day 7 of the tour and we have packed so many wonderful things into it so far.... It really seems to be stretching forever.
At the moment, we have the movie, El Sid playing in the bus... ( That's not REALLY one of the wonderful things. screen too small and volume too loud but hey...I'm on holidays!) ..... Charlton Heston and Sofia Loren....not watching obviously... But really scary when the dramatic music comes on as we are driving down a steep freeway.
I can understand the movie choice....Spain and all that....but I think I would have preferred 'The Sound Of Music'.... (Plus I know all the songs!)
Perhaps that will come later on the trip.
Lovely to hear that you are having beautiful spring weather.
It would be so wonderful to get out in the courtyard Mum and Dad. Spring sounds like it has sprung.
Well, settled in my room in Barcelona. It's 10pm and I am pretty tired. Wonderful room with a balcony overlooking the POOL(!!!!!!)
We arrived here at 4pm then straight into town for a tour with a local guide. He explained that because it gets so hot here, they have tried to have as many trees as possible along every street so they can always walk in the shade. We drove up high above the city and the view back down to the city and the sea was amazing!
It's a beautiful place.
He also said that before the Olympics here in 1992, they had 40 cruise ships a year call into the port. After the Olympics, they now get 1000 ships a year. There would appear to be some truth to Governments telling us that something like the Olympics raises the city's profile. Seems to have worked here.
Spain is in serious trouble with unemployment etc so glad something is working for them.
City tour was amazing.
Stood and gazed at the Sagrada Familia.... The enormous church designed by Gaudi....still a work in progress. Just amazing.
Sort of ugly but fascinating none the less.
Then free time in the city centre for an hour to grab some dinner. There were people everywhere!
Because they have a siesta, 7pm was like school pick up time, times 10000.
Again fascinating though. I love people watching.
Back to the hotel by 8.30pm....straight into the pool .... And I had it all to myself... Except for the people cheering... ( They are practising for Athens)
Off to Montserrat tomorrow morning. Really looking forward to that. Then we can go into Barcelona city centre tomorrow afternoon for free time. I might just stay by the pool. It was about 32 degrees here today.
Then off tomorrow evening for a dinner and show....flamingo dancers.

Mona Your travel blog is wonderful - reading and viewing your photos. I really enjoyed reading it and you are definitely having a wonderful time. Looking forward to more.....
Chris Looking forward to hearing how the FLAMINGO dancers performed ...I so miss you !!!!
Narelle Hey Carolyn, I am absolutely loving reading all about your trip - it's just brilliant! Pictures are gorgeous and the spanish puppies are so cute. I am grumpy because I have a cold and am keeping Kleenex in business. Off to Sydney tomorrow for the HR Awards (not nearly as exciting as Barcelona!) No chance of picking up any hot HR professional businessmen with a nose that would rival Rudolph's!! Can't wait to read the next instalment.love Narelle xx
