...the day breaks sunny and beautiful, which can be admired in full splendor from our window, so we decide to...
...we take a trek on the Path of the Gods (Sentiero degli Dei) and instead of the promised amazing views we see...fog because of a sudden weather change
...we visit a lone church on the path and are treated to some exquisite tea, coffee and Easter cake by the janitor, Domenico
...we walk down to Positano, take a bus with a grumpy driver back to Praiano and a drive to Amalfi, where we take another seaview room..
...which this time is pathetically small and cramped and the breakfast is limited and poor (which we discover on the next day) but the location (perched right on the cliff) is unbeatable - look down from our tiny balcony and you see the beach 100 m below (!!!)
...we take a dangerous 20 minute walk to Amalfi center (at night cars barely see you on the super narrow road), stopping for tea and coffee (and getting ripped off by a gentle, kind, smiling old geezer - charging us €10 for a tea, a coffee and a baba)
...we conclude that Italians just can't prepare tea - the water is always too cold so it doesn't steep and sometimes it's boiled in a coffee pot, which makes it smell...well like coffee
...we marvel at the diversity of Italy's parking lines painted along roads - sometimes blue means park and yellow no parking, sometimes white means park and blue means paid, sometimes yellow means no park and blue is residents only - there's no method to this madness
...be it narrow streets of Naples or tight switchbacks of the Amalfi coast, we realize that the only way to preserve your car when parked is to fold your mirrors down - the rule is: fold it or lose it, as attested by many crippled vehicles on the roadside
...I eat two pizzas on the same day: lunch and dinner. Yes!!
