1. We visit the Coit Tower, enjoy the views and have an interesting chat with the tower's curator, who happens to be Irish and Polish (in the words of one of his friends: Ah so you're both stupid AND a drunk?)
2. We drive out to THE bridge (Golden Gate), where we share our time equally between: finding a place to park, walking across the bridge and back and visiting the gift shop. We are blessed with amazing clear sky weather as opposed to the usual fog and drizzle SF is famous for.
3. We revisit the Chinatown by day, go to Little Italy (called North Beach here) and enjoy some really good pizza and really good calzone (because the really good pizza wasn't enough to satisfy my really big hunger :) and some neat artisanal microbrewery beers.
4. We continue the evening by buying more beer at a shop and wrapping it in a paper bag like in the movies to drink it in the street (not sure if it would protects us from a fine - the Chinese storekeeper also seems uncertain) and then talking to some nice people in the street and buying even more beer at a local bar ("Naked Lunch", a nice place that). The beer is freakishly expensive in this city (US$7-8 for a pint), but we're past caring. This ends up in a happy evening, which - at least for me - leads up to a very miserable morning indeed. Worst hangover in months...
