Today was spent driving across the farming state of Iowa. Lots of corn fields but only the remnants of last years crops. No snow today but the temperature stayed at 0c for most of the morning. By the time we got to Des Moines to visit the State Capitol Building it had reached 5c. Beautiful old building only spoilt by politicians loitering the premises. Arrived at our overnight accommodation in Davenport on the banks of the Mighty Mississippi River around 4pm. Drove around the town did a little shopping and got McDonald's dinner of 4 chicken burgers, 2 salads and fries for $8.
