Today we got up at 4.30am to be picked up and taken to the train station for the 6am train. We were told at the station that the train journey may take longer than the standard 4 hours as locals were protesting further up the line. The train set off and zig zagged up the mountain side, going backwards and forwards as we changed tracks. We arrived in Cusco on Sunday and headed straight to our hotel. We rested for 5 hours, and luckily it paid off as we havent suffered from altitude sickness. I guess the cocoa tea helped as well. Cusco is 11,500ft above sea level, and surrounded by even higher mountains. We are still having a great time, and getting on, no arguments yet, however we are a little concerned we are morphing into each other as someone asked if we were brother and sister! Sunday even...

All is well here in Lima, jill had her blood pressure checked to make sure she is still alive!!! After spending the first two days sorting out our trip to Macchu Picchu and re-arranging some flights we got back into the swing of looking around. Miraflores the area we are staying in in Lima is the tourist area, so we are safe enough walking round and there are plenty of shops, cafes etc to keep us amused.I say safe that is as long as you avoid the crazy buses...

After our relaxing time at Puerta Vallarta we headed back to Mexico City on friday. We are staying in a rather flash sheraton seen as it's Jills birthday. We went to the azteca stadium which holds 115,000 slightly more than an average saturday afternoon down millmoor. We saw Atlante play tigres.
