Craig & Jills Round the World Trip
On Friday we went on the bridge climb. This meant been kitted out in very fetching grey jump suits for 3 hours. We were clipped to the bridge the whole time with a special harness so no chance of falling off or Craig pushing Jill off. We slowly scaled up one side of the arch to the summit for great views of the city and of course the opera house. From up here you can see how big Sydney is, it goes on as far as the eye can see in every direction. Craig did the climb like a true Rotherham person in just his pants! The climb was really good, just a shame how expensive it is. Plus its not that unique as there are groups of people going every 10 mins.
Saturday thankfully we had some sunshine and blue skies, so we headed to Bondi Beach. Unfortunetly we couldnt go for a paddle as it was full of stinging blue bottles, little jelly fish with long blue tenticles. However we still got to see some surfers as we sat on the lovely golden sand. Bondi is a lovely bay, with lots of trendy cafes and shops, lots of young people posing. Next stop we went for a walk through the botanical gardens, which gave us great views of the harbour and city skyscrapers. We were surprised to see hundreds of huge scary fruit bats hanging from the trees. We alsdo got to see some posh weddings, 1 couple were getting married in the gardens complete with string quartets. Lots of wedding parties fighting for photos spots with the bridge and opera house in the background. We went and sat at Mrs Macquires chiar, which is some rocks at the end of the gardens. This has to be the best photo spot of the city, and it was very nice and quiet away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Saturday night we went to try and watch the gay mardi gras parade. However we struggled to see anything as everyone sands on milk crates at side of road, and Jill been a dwarf couldnt see a thing. We got to see some of the floats on a big tv screen. Lots of men in YMCA outfits baring there butts!
