We set off pretty early from the rest area as wanted to go see the views at the lighthouse on the most easterly point in Australia! They did not disappoint! It was amazing! Apparently you're able to see lots of whales and dolphins from there but we weren't lucky enough to see any. We went to the little lighthouse cafe after all that sight seeing for an ice cream. We both had chocolate Mars ice cream which in both our opinions was the BEST ice cream we've ever had! We then headed back to Byron Bay, and dropped our camper van off at 'The Arts Factory' hostel. It had such a backpacker vibe to it. It's part of the Nomads chain. After we got settled we walked around the town for a little while. Sarah got a smoothie and I grabbed a burger in a little restaurant on the beach front. We had major drama whilst walking around, Sarah managed to lose her sunglasses and was convinced that someone MUST have stollen them off her head... It was the only explanation! Well it turned out that she actually took them off and left them by one of the shop mirrors whilst doing her hair in it! Thank god we found them is all I can say! After all that cufuffle, we headed to the beach to relax for a bit! Well it was like a sand storm down there, sand got everywhere and in everything! I was warned by mum not to go into the water after the recent shark attack there so I took her advice and avoided it! After two or so hours and a mouth full of sand we decided to head back to the hostel as there was quite a lot of facilities on offer there. We used a bit of wifi, I facetimed mum and painted my toe nails outside in the sun. We both had showers early so that the sun would dry our hair in time for straightening later that night as we don't have a hair dryer. We sat out the back on the benches with other backpackers all around us just chatting away. It was a great atmosphere! Three guys came and sat with us, they were living at the hostel as they had moved to Oz for good. They told us the best places to go out go the night. We were chatting for about 2 hours, it was nice to have a bit of guy banter. Sarah and I then went and got ready in a record time of 30 minutes... That's amazing for us! We went out for a meal at the Brewery across from the hostel. Then we caught the last mini bus provided by the hostel into town. There was a reggae night on at a place called the 'Ginger Pig'. It was very good but very hard core, we were pretty much the only non-hippies in there! It was dreads central! It had an awesome atmosphere though! We had heard about another club called Cheeky Monkeys so we tried there too. It was very quiet so we walked back to the Ginger Pig. We bumped into the boys, so once the bar shut we all then headed back to Cheeky Monkeys. It was like musical clubs! We ended up having an amazing night yet again!
