On Wednesday the 13th I started my Interpid tour of - THE GREAT INDOCHINA LOOP. We stayed in Bangkok for a day and saw the Reclining Buddha which was amazing and then the Grand Palace - so was all templed out by the end of the day. We then went on an overnight train to Chang Mai and this was alot more comfortbable than we thought it was going to be. It did take 12hours though which is a long time. By the time we got there it was early morning and there were several activities that we could do.
I did Elephant riding which was amazing and so fun to do, then i did the bamboo rafting down the river and did some jumping in off rocks which was amazing. By the end of the day we still wanted to see more and a few of us decided we would go and see the Thai Kickboxing, when walking in I saw Rob and Tom Snook who i had travelled with at first. The Thai Kickboxing was a good event and as violent as i had seen live before.
The next day we took a minibus to Chang Kong on the way we went to a cashew nut farm and then another temple. We got there quite late and got to our guesthouse which was all made of wood and was situated on the Mekong River. Was a lovely place just infested with mosquitos. We went out as a group in the evening and was good to really get to know everyone before crossing the border into Laos tomorrow!!!
