Ben on Tour
Well that's about it for NZ. The past 6 weeks have whizzed by. Travelling by car with janet and Pete (friends from Plymouth) has allowed me to venture deeper than I could have on public transport. You two have been great over the last month and a half - big thanks. can't remember when I last posted a card!! Probably from North Island. Since then I've survived the earthquakes in Wellington (5.5 on the Richter scale) and the flash floods in Dunedin (30mm in 20 mins). I hope Tahiti will be kind to me as its the rainy season (typhoons too!!). Highlights of the past 4 weeks have been walking the wonderful coast of the Abel Tasman by foot and kayak; the glaciers in the Southern Alps; some excellent walking (thanks for the company Pete, and Janet for the chauffeuring) including the Rob Roy walk and Avalanche Peak; whale watching (and 500 dolphins) in Kaikoura and winning at scrabble (sorry Janet). The photos should give you a flavour of all this. Now it's back to independent travel again. Will try to update from Tahiti if I can otherwise I'll have to wait till Chile.
