We spent Monday walking the beach but got too hot inthe mid 30's so repaired to Indian Ocean pub for a drink and lunch!
Afternoon Peg shopped and prepared dinner for us all.
Tuesday we drove down to Margaret River - mainly freeway or wide road. 200 miles of flat country side - Western Australia does not seem to do hills. The towns down at the end Bunbury seemed fine - we eventually arived in Margaret River at our motel - This one is new and in the town centre so great for amenities - not so good for views and quiet.
As we entered town Peg said that's the place to go - a pub or resto called "Winos". Would you believe we have spent two evenings having a very good meal at "Winos "-seems appropriate!
Wednesday we drove for 10 minutes the short distance down to the beach at Prevelly. The tide sdoes not seem to go out here and the beach is very steep with waves crashing a few feet away from you. Peg sat prepared to jump up if the next one reached us. - I was prepared to do a Neil Kinnock. We drove a few minutes into the village and had a relaxing lunch under the trees before getting back to the beach . The wind is quite strong so although it is fine to sit in the dunes hiding from it- it is actually better to sit in the wind to cool you down a bit.
On th way back we drove to next bay where a large number of guys were windsurfing both on sail boards and also boards with parachute type sails dragging them thru the waves and sea.
Skippy lives - as we drove back to the motel I spied in one of the fields three kangaroos - appropriately the next road was kanga drive.
Very windy today Thursday with a big drop in temp to 23, suggestion of a shower but then the forecast for the next 7 days is back to 30s and sunny.
Not quite sure what we will do -so read all about it at the wek-end!
