The days spent in Barcelona were once again, busy! We arrived to our hostel and immediately walked down to the Barcelona FC stadium. The stadium is huge and seats 98,000!
The next morning we walked down La Ramblas street which hosts a variety of markets within the boulevard. We then walked to the cathedral, which we were not allowed to enter unless our legs were covered.
We went to see a few of Gaudi's masterpieces. The first was the apartment Casa Batllo, which was finished with colorful mosaic tiles and skull patterns on the exterior. The second apartment was La Pedrera. This huge building was built for a married couple and throughout the structure there are no straight lines. And finally we went to Gaudi's most well known temple, Sagrada Familia. An amazing structure started in the 1930s and still 25-30 years away from being finished. The outside is complete with sculptures, bone-shaped columns, the 12 stations of the cross, and much much more.
Later that afternoon we headed to the port and continued to the beach, which was packed full! From there we ended our night at Font Magica de Montjuic (Magic Fountain). A fountain show with music and lights that many people attend every Thursday to Sunday.
That was a great city to end our days in Spain!
Adios!
