Ok so the summer holidays have come and gone already and I have now been back at school for 6 weeks so as usual I am very late in blogging about my lovely 7.5 weeks at home in the UK with my friends and family!
The first adventure if my holidays was the torch relay. Yes that's right as everyone knows this year London hosted the Olympic Games and I was fortunate enough to not only live quite close to the relay route but to have it actually visit a national monument. Blenihiem Palace, Woodstock. Tracey and I set if relatively early for this event knowing that most of Oxfordshire would want to join us in seeing the torch!! The bonus if arriving at the palace early was that we got to have a good day out as well. We had a great look around the palace which I have not done for around 15 years and we walked round the park which I don't think I have ever done properly! After all this we decided it was time to find a good spot for the torch. As it was still around 2 hours till the arrival we actually got a space right at the front near the palace steps. Here we had the perfect view of the hand over when the torch arrived. We also got a good view of the famous security police and the Duke doing his speech.
See the torch was pretty cool and I am defiantly glad I did it however it felt a little kind of something of nothing. I have a feeling it was slightly different if you saw it out on the normal streets but I won't ever really know!
One sad but exciting thing happening while I was at home was our house being sold and the beginning of a new adventure for my mum and dad. It was very sad because its a house I have known for all of my life but the family that have bought it seem nice and there are children to fill the rooms with fun and new beginnings!
I am very excited for my mum and dad to start a new adventure together and where they are moving to (have now moved to) seems very nice. I'll have more of an explore at Christmas when I have time to do that.
The next exciting thing to happen was my Sister and Bill finally deciding to actually get married!!! Whooo I can't wait! It is going to be the Saturday before Christmas and boy we had a lot of things to try and organise while I was home. The best thing was getting something for Lisa to wear. Lisa, mum, Katie, Emily and I spent the day shopping in Banbury! I haven't done anything like that with my mum and sister in years and it was great!! Lisa got what she wanted and will look amazing and we sorted the girls dresses out nits all so exciting :-)
Ok so this blog is pretty long so I think I'll do another one for the other majorly exciting thing undid in my holidays!!!
All in all as usual I had a fantastic time at home and it was lovely to see everyone I live very much. The girls have grown so much and I love seeing them develop in to amazing young ladies (this could be debated when Katie is running around at 4am!!!!!!!!)
