Wow wow wow wow is all I can say really!!
The Olympics have been and gone now but I have to say it was probably the most memorable experience of my life (bigger than the F1 and moving to Brunei!!)
I somehow managed to get tickets for my mum and I for the synchronised swimming team free routine finals! With the medal ceremony!!
The whole day was amazing. We got disabled parking for mum so we managed to park really close to the park. We arrived around 12pm and the event was at 3pm so plenty of time to explore before and after the event!
The first stop was getting mum a mobility scooter. This was pretty painless and made her day so much more enjoyable! She was like a mini celebratory everyone was asking if she was having a good day, if there was anything they could dobro make it better for her and they kept opening gates and getting us through the crowds quicker!! I was almost non-existent!!
After we collected the scooter and got through the airport security which wasn't as bad as expected, we were finally in the park! It was definatly impressive! The stadium and the orbit looked much bigger than what we had seen on the TV in the week before.
We mooched around and looked in the BMW show hut and then it was finally time for the main event!
The aquatics centre was fantastic! Much more amazing than any swimming pool I have vet seen, believe me iv seen a huge amount!!! We were quite high up and at first mum struggled to look down burnout view was pretty spectacular! I'm glad we didn't pay any less for our tickets! All 8 teams were astounding and Russia just blew me away! The GB girls definately did our county proud finishing 6th out if 8. In 1st was Russia, 2nd Spain and 3rd was China. But we'll done to all the teams that competed!!
After the event we had more a look around and also had to suffer a McDonald's from the 2nd largest store in the world. It literally was heaving but the service was relatively fast considering the amount of people!!!! After this we tried to go up to the velodrome but unfortunately 80,000 people were trying to come in for the athletics in the stadium at the same time and we were going against the tide! So we have up on this and went down for a quick look at the queen's barrage which was moored down at the river.
We left the park reluctantly but quite tired around 7pm after an amazing and unforgettable day! I am so pleased I went for tickets as it truly was a once in a life time experience!!!!
Well done London! Well done GB!!!!
