Cuba - More than old cars
Better weather today and set off to do a bit more exploring. Firstly we went to a nearby highly recommended restaurant to make a booking for tomorrow night then to do a bit of shopping - shoelaces and stuff. Nearby we came upon the Academy of Music which had an interesting facade and statues. It was closed but looked interesting inside. Might try to get in later.
A popular game over here is for a group of people (minimum of 2) to be locked in a room and have to find clues to get themselves out. They have an hour to do it. We found one of the places where they play this but did not venture to try it. We headed towards the Old Market Hall again as had things to get and also went to a different part of it to browse around.
We had lunch near the market and were amused by the seedy looking guys trying to sell iPhone 6s. Thought one guy was going to be successful but after much, what appeared to be negotiating, it fell through. Didn't stop him from following them as they left. He reappeared about 15 minutes later.
After lunch and more meandering brought us to Calvin Square and a Calvinist Church. We popped inside to find what we expected - a fairly plain but nice enough interior. Next stop was the Hungarian National Museum. We went in and spent our time investigating the modern part of their history since the late 19th century. Not as much English information as we were hoping for but we were able to put most of it together and it was all very interesting because we did not know much of it. This is a very interesting part of Europe and the world.
Back to the apartment the plan was to go to a Ruined Pub. These are pubs that got unofficially set up in abandoned buildings during the turn of the century. Many of them still exist and they have their own website. In the end we did not do this as we were hoping to do it earlier in the evening before the Saturday night proper got underway. Still got time.
Off to dinner instead and then back to the apartment to listen to the All Black game as we were unable to find a TV station that was broadcasting it. Lots of soccer but not rugby - to be expected we guess. Good outcome as the French chose not to turnup this time. Having said that we sounded pretty organised and intense.

Gael I'm hoping you're going to come home with a few more interesting things than "shoelaces and stuff"; you've been to some pretty amazing markets, etc. I'm wondering whether you are going into Poland. Alister loves Poland and has said it's probably one of his most favourite places. I gather the food and beer is incredibly cheap - and so much of it on your plate!
Togia I loved Budapest. It was fun travelling around on the trains armed with my guide book and no knowledge of the language. Are you going up to the castle? Love your pics of places I didn't get to.
