Today we left Budapest for Athens. David and Lesley are staying on for one more day before heading for Prague by train. We have had a really good time together and, while we will keep in touch during our respective travels, we will catch up again next year in Sydney.

Arrived at the airport a bit too early and had to wait around to check in our bags before going through. It seems odd not having to go through immigration but it sure speeds things up. We flew with Aegean which won the Regional Airline Award for Europe in 2015. We were on an; Airbus 320 and could not believe the room between the seats; most we have probably ever had on a plane in economy. The negative was the amount of luggage people are allowed to bring into the cabin. You would not want to have a soft bag in the overhead locker with breakables in it. The passengers just ram the bags in. At least it meant we did not have to wait long for ours on the carousel. Flight was only 1 hour 50 and once we got out of the stormy areas and above the clouds it was smooth going.

We did not do any sightseeing this evening as it was about 830pm by the time we got to our hotel, Athens being one hour ahead of Budapest. The only picture is from our hotel room upon our arrival.
