Ah where to begin. This trek has been amazing. After our first night out, we woke up ready for our summit day. We slept at 13,000 feet and were we're headed for the Ipu pass that was at 15,000 feet. Before we left camp, we toured a local woman's house. Made out of stones and mud, to say it was modest would be an understatement. It had a dirt floor, a small fire and the walls were covered with soot. The small bed was made out of wood and the mattress consisted of a dozen sheepskin.
We headed out of town and passed the Sunday market and locals making there way to he market to buy or sell goods. We climbed and climbed and passes some of he most isolated and idilic farms surrounded by potato fields. All the while pasig packs of Alpaca, Llama, sheep, goat and cows. We made it to the pass before lunch having chewed our way through handfuls of coca leaves.
It's hard to translate the sights, lifestyle, villages and children in words. Check out the pictures...
