We all slept really well and were ready for our breakfast this morning. We had a swim in the pool and decided that we'd have a day off from the temples today and chill out here getting a few jobs done on the computer. We went out for tea around 6pm getting a tuk tuk into town. We had something to eat then walked down the street trying to find somewhere which does bus tickets as we're wanting to go to Phnom Penh on Monday. We found somewhere which has a 6hr bus journey but to get a shorter journey we'd have to take a mini bus which isn't as safe apparently.
Walking back down the street to find somewhere to go for a drink you get surrounded by children. One person at the hotel had warned us that she'd felt one of them go in her pockets, luckily she had nothing in there. So we were all hanging onto our pockets while saying no, as they were begging. One of the scams using children in Cambodia which we'd read about is that children come up to you and say they don't want money they want a meal or they need baby milk for the baby they are carrying then you buy the milk from the shop for them, walk away and they sell the milk back to the shop with the shop gaining and they get money too. We were approached by two children trying just this, one actually said "I don't want money just a meal from the mini mart" there were at least two children with week old children strapped to them, quite scary but you knew their parents wouldn't be that far away. We got tapped by one boy who asked for food and when James said no he shouted why not and got really rude. He just wandered back to his family who were sat outside a shop. We did find somewhere for a couple more drinks then we went into the night market again as Sam and Steph wanted to buy some bits. I did find something I like and James did the bartering with him and a guy had a stand off with James offering $61/2 and the guy asking $7 but the guy was really funny with it so James went to $7 and the guy had a huge grin on his face and repeatedly punched the air shouting "winner, winner, winner, winner". After this we decided to have one more drink, we found a place with music on and very busy so got a cocktail each from here, the place was called Angkor What? We walked back down the street and saw a guy selling insects to eat, he said he had giant butterflies to eat but they were actually cockroaches! We bought some water to take back and then got a tuk tuk back to the hotel.
