Berlin soon?????
History Pop Quiz:
Back in the day, next to the wall, when the cold war was hot and before mosh pits were in vogue, what american leader during a speech heard round the world, said , "Ich bin ein Berliner?"
And the crowd went nutz!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know if Briana will be able to live down the McDonald's thing. Hard to believe that Trent is the connoisseur. I'm glad I've trained you to be impossible while you're in travel status. No fast food for me.
So sorry to hear about the bedbugs. Sounds horrid. Dump all of your clothes in the laundry with some major disinfectant, or at a dry cleaner that promises to use chemicals that will kill all living creatures. Looks like the sheet sleeping bag is looking a little less stupid by now.. Bratislava never seemed like the most glamorous place on your list. Evidently with good reason.
Glad to hear you're starting to fantasize about home cooking, or at least food in San Diego. Must be getting a little travel weary, however every entry you both make in the journal seems mouth watering, so I'm not sure what you can possibly be missing.
Enjoy the last week.

Don't forget to go the the free concerts outdoor on those big plazas!!!!

Grandma
YES, of course we will pick you up.
Here is what we usually do with pick-ups. I will have my cell phone and as soon as you clear customs, just come out to the curb, call me, and we will be at the Hacienda Hotel Restaurant, which is 2 minutes away.
We will drive around and get you, NO PROB!!!!!
Let me know, Grandma
Grandma
Hi guys, when you get home, leave your luggage in the GARAGE.
Bedbugs will piggy-back and cost $300 a room to get rid of, with no guarantee.
I will remember not to sleep in your bed when you get home.
HA HA HA HA

Hi Briana & Trent,
Well, Floyd Landis won the Tour de France and Tiger won the British Open. Good news all around.
If you have not already done Vienna. You must eat at Demel's, this is a very old restaurant where the Archduke Ferdinand helped plan WW One. Then, the Lippizaner Horses training building. Then the Sacher Hotel, for Sacher Torte, a real must.
Then, any coffee house, you can get papers to read from anywhere in the world and stay all day and read them. No one asks you to pay or leave, ever.
THEN, there is a huge trunk in the middle of town. Since the Middle Ages, workmen who came to Vienna to work, as they left town, pounded a nail in this tree. It has some old, hand made nails, and is a world famous thing to see.
Probably you are in Budapest by now. I loved that city.

Hey Briana & Trent,
Well, Flod Landis fell off the wall at the Tour, so I guess he has almost no chance of winning. A real shame. He tried so hard.
Back to the buying. I know this may seem like a pain, but you will kick yourself if you don't get a few of the things you see.
You can buy boxes at the postoffice, then pack stuff, then mail it home. We did this in France. It is more expensive than mailing from here, but better than not getting something you will never get the chance to get again.
ha ha, my advice, spend money!
Love you two sweet thangs! Grandma
Tim
It sounds like you are having an amazing time. Briana I have been enjoying all your meals except you are making me very hungry. It is so great to be able to enjoy your adventure like this by reading and seeing your entries. Briana be careful of those shady trees. Love Dad
Grandma
Hi Briana & Trent,
Honey, if you want something and can't carry it MAIL it home.
You would have guessed that I could figure out a way to spend money.
Only works in the nicer shops, but does work.
I love hearing from both of you and it is surreal that you can communicate like this!
I just love the 21st Century!
